Default Molehill soil

I am thinking to use some molehill soil in my container gardening experiment. Just something to have fun with some of my extra plants after I fill all available garden space.

I tried to fill one bucket and germinate some extra seed I had. Problem is after watering surface became real hard for seedlings to breakthrough. That didn't stopped some weed however.

Did anyone tried to use molehill soil for container soil? Is it possible? Maybe with addition of some perlite or compost? If I put grass clips as mulch on top would that prevent surface to become concrete like? What do you think?

Molehill soil is just regular soil. The moles dig tunnels and push the soil outside.
I don't see any advantage using it .

Gardeneer is right, do not use any ground soil in containers; there is a reason they sell potting mix. Ground soil is too dense for pots. Roots need a fluffy, airy medium to grow well.
