Black from Tula tomato is similar to Black Krim. Both being dark fleshed tomatoes. I am growing mostly dark this year and will track the weight of production over the season. These three plants have been under my bucket LED lamps for 18 days They are large, strong and healthy. |

My BFT have germinated and looking good. They are under T5HO lights and I'm waiting till they start the first set of true leaves. How was your germination rate? I had 7/13 grow. Hope they have a great year, that and ISRL. Also trying Spudakee for the first time. Last year I tried to grow Spudatula - the seedlings were weak and very poor germination, so they were tossed. Keeping my fingers crossed. Yours look good!

I germinate all my seeds between the folds of a coffee filter in a fairly large plastic container. I keep the paper damp and around room temperature or just slightly warmer with a body heating pad on low.
When sprouted the seed is placed in a pot with good soft home made soil under a LED light. This is my first year using the LED and I am now a total believer in their use. Relatively cheap, convenient, cool running, easy to assemble using common off the shelf parts. |
