Default Black Tomatoes:

Hope everyones doing well.

We sampled 3 black tomato varieties and came up with a favorite:
Black from Tula is a winner again.

Here from left to right are:
Black from Tula / Black Prince / Nyagous

I concur with your assessment! Throw Cherokee Purple into the mix....and you would have a battle between BFT and ChP! (we've seen this play out at Tomatopalooza - each tomato has its proponents!)

I'll have to have a black section in the patch next year. Having grown black Krim, Cherokee Purple and Carbon, the latter two are now every year tomatoes. Last year and so far this year Carbon wins for flavor. The real test will have to include several of the other blacks especially Black from Tula. Thanks for the photos.

I also like the pics - since they give a great example of the pink/black (or purple) as compared with the red/black (or chocolate, burnt orange, brick, etc). and there you have it - clear skin vs yellow skin over the darker interior!

I had some Black Cherry tomatoes earlier this year that were just delicious. Nice size for a cherry tomato as well -- and nice color. It nearly looks like a Red Flame grape -- only larger.

Tom,

Nice looking group (finally )!

I have Black Prince also. Very early.

I also have Black Krim and Carbon, Much bigger fruits, somewhat more decease resistant and much more productive.

Just curious, why didn't you like the Krims? Was it because of the cracking?
