What about using an Electric Blanket ?
We've never used any kind of heat pad to germinate seeds....personally found the high cost un-justified !!
They all seem to germinate eventually anyway. But, this year may wish to speed up the process with heat.... Have an old electric blanket which we won't use for fear of burning to death while sleeping...by any chance, has anybody ever tried using one for seed starts ? Noreaster |

I wouldn't bother. You've had success in the past without using a heat source, so why change now? I've found that it is very easy to get seed to germinate at room temperature.
