Could cross have taken?
I was able to rub pollen on the stigma first day pretty well. Second day the whole pistol broke off. A healthy fruit is now growing. Is it possible the cross took or is it more likely that it self-pollinated? I know I'll find out with the F1 but I'm just trying to figure my chances. Is one good time of getting the pollen on the stigma enough?

Did you remove the male parts before the flower opened? Then it should be fine, one day is plenty for fecundation to occur.

I removed everything but the pistil. Flower was only partially opened. Thanks.

One good time is enough but If the flower was open at all it could be selfed.

It was just starting to open. I'm doing more crosses now. Hopefully one will take.
