The place looks good to bad cant get my place cleaned up like that but I have a canyon for a back yard and it is murder to weed eat all of the time.

Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I wasn't consitant with the soil building in each bed so I don't know if it is the stature of the cultivar or the soil but they are only 8-12" tall. WHen I left for work 9 or 10 days back a couple of the 4 I planted were forming buds. This puts them ahead of The Jubilees I planted which are also smallish compared to my other plants. But Behind the Cherokee purples that were busy blooming ad setting away.

I am happy with what pictures my wife sends (at least she cares enough to give me photographic progeress reports) but she doesn't always focus on what I wish to see but why push my luck

I would gladly trade my neat and tidy space for a LARGER space. I would probably still picket fence and cottage garden the area close to the house though.

Here is one she missed in her attachments yesterday and showed up in my email today (she's a keeper)



The stakes are merely to mark the location of each plat and guide the main leader upwards..I plan on letting this bed sprawl otherwise. Combined with the dry windy year and my drip irrigation I am comparing it to the caged bed yields in a non scientific anectdotal sort of way.

Everything seems to be doing great. I added some trellising to the stakes where I am staking. The growth is getting quite thick and hectic so a single stake was not gonna do the trick plus having all the empty space rapidly disapearing I rethought sprawling for all but one plant.

The plants look great mine are up past the first section of the cages too.

LGS is a smallish plant that will put out a few large sprays of blooms.

If you have a TTC around it take it down and use it some place else, LGS wont need it.

Once again the plants look great, its nice when all of the hard work pays off.

Last post before my wife gets cross about my need for sleep.
The lgs's are in cheap 42" cages that are obviously overkill. I didn't photograph them because frankly.. they are small but full of blossoms. They get the same water and nutrient schedule as the bigger cultivarst they are on a different plane size wise. I will take some pictures of the LGS's tommorow. They are seriously 12" at best and full of blossoms. My Add-it fertilizer injector arrived today.. I plugged it into my system and filled it with some soil and tomato food. Watch out!
It won't be long now.. I wish I had some early determinates planted.. I am eager to tast that first batch!

Citrus blossoms are beautifully scented and I wish it could be bottled as well as it smells in nature. . I have lemon, grapefruit and mandarin orange. The grapefruit is what was blossoming in the picture.

Not as detailed as I would like but at least my wife does photograph the plants for me when I am up in Alaska.










From these I can tell that at least my drip timer is working that the Jubilees in the first picture are indeed small plants and that I will have to do some tucking and tying when I get home.
