If you ask me or anybody else in the south that grows okra to put up for winter I say 50 seeds but for normal people 10 is good and 5 would work for people to try it.

What did you grow?

Rajun, is it okay to amend your post?

It would say - "If you ask me or anybody else in the south that grows okra to put up for winter I say 500 seeds but for normal people 100 is good and 50 would work for people to try it."

lol

I found out why I can no longer grow okra. It seems that RKN prefers okra, but will make due with tomato roots.

I'm squeezing a few more packs into the box:

Common Beans
2 Brown Striped Greasy Cut Short
2 Jennings
3 Margaret Best Greasy Cut Short

2 Diamond Eggplant
4 Slow-Bolt Cilantro

and maybe some Cracoviensis Lettuce and Webb's Wonderful Lettuce if I can still get the box closed

nothing fancy, just clemson spineless. This was my first time growing okra. I actually can't stand it (even in soup, but I am ok eating around it) but my husband likes it. I think I would like a variety with prettier flowers in the future.

yeah, I am thinking maybe 15 or so (I have plenty of seed, and since it's common I don't need to send 30 packs). Just for people like me who haven't grown okra before and want to try. If they let a few pods go they will have plenty if they want to go that far.

I got some dill from someone in my garden club today, probably enough for 50 packs each with enough seed for a whole neighborhood. I won't send that many though.

First-time MMMM participant; sent seeds today! I ended up with about a dozen tomato varieties (including 20 packs of Dwarf Adelaide Festival tomatoes, which I loved) and a few bonuses (tomatillos, ground cherries, and some flowers). I saw that some members were interested in pollinator-attracting flowers, so I threw in some Bright Lights mixed Cosmos seeds. Can't wait to see what arrives in my mailbox in a few months...

You open that mailer and you'll gasp when all those packs pour onto the counter. It took my breath and the wife says, Whoa!

Beans:
Anasazi x 9
Dedos x10
Jumbo x 7
Missouri Wonder x 5

I've done the tomato/bean swap the last couple of years on the GW forums. I was tessie83856 on there.
Will get them in the mail tomorrow.

I came across an envelope of Black Jungle Butter Beans that I had drying, so am enclosing 5 packs (6 seeds each) of them.

When I look at this thread, I wonder if Tormato has this huge barn or warehouse or something to keep all the seeds in. I guess he could use binders like I do. I only have 500 or so varieties to keep up with. Tormato must have thousands.

I wanted to send in some Texas 1015Y onion seeds that I saved, but at the time, I didn't know their germination rate, I also thought about them being a short day onion, but since, I've read that they can be planted in intermediate and long day areas. http://sustainableseedco.com/heirloo...nion-seed.html

If I had known this beforehand, I would have sent some seeds in.

Some beans for the swap...variety - year harvested - code for type is p=pole , b=bush, s=snap. d=dry, w=wax, h-r=half runner - the last number is the number of packs (of 5 seeds) or number of seeds less than one pack.

You may request more than one pack of a variety.

Varieties with very few seeds should be grown out in 2017, rather than stashed in a collection.

After tomatoes, peppers, and beans, as bonuses melons/squash/cukes are the next most popular seeds in the swap.

I'm thinking we'll have to include those in 2017 as part of the swap rather than just as bonuses. Meanwhile, I'll dig through my collection to see what I have.

I am filling out the wish list and wanting input. I am being sponsored by spacetogrow and am going to get more than enough seeds from my sponsor (http://tomatoville.com/showpost.php?...&postcount=127) but I want to see if there are any tomato, pepper and/or pea recommendations relating to my area, I am in the Atlanta area (zone 7 or 8, varies by calculator) and will be growing in containers or raised beds that will not have contact with the native soil.
