Lee- That Yellow 1884 Pinkheart looks and sounds amazing. I'm putting that on my must-try list for 2016. What is a good source for seeds?

I was looking for these seeds too after I saw photos.

Tania has them on her website @ Tatianas Tomatobase

Hunter......I always got the plants from the original source in Tulsa at The Tomatoman's Daughter. She has carried on the family business from The Tomatoman, Darrell Merrill. 2015 was the first year I grew from my own seeds. I know Tatiana had the seed for a couple of years. I don't know if they are available this year.

I'm planning to grow these again next year:

Better Boy
Sungold
Sara's Galapagos
Mountain Magic
Indigo Rose
Red Brandywine
Fourth of July
Jubilee

I didn't grow the last three this year, but I probably should have.

The cats like to visit the nip ....I have no problems so far with cat spraying and no problems with kitty using the main garden beds/ pots .....as the beds/pots are triple raised off the ground for height and air /sun ....I also have not noticed Mr.
Mouse / or rat make a visit ....even when the doors / hemisphere were mostly open for the whole record breaking hot summer this year .....

So on balance the cats are a helpful part of my garden ecosystem ....ha ha ha

Sentinel cats are encouraged !

But they are not helpful when Mr. deer Jumps the fence !

That's weird because my dad swears by the barn cats in his garden keeping out the deer. He says the deer walk past the cat and when it jumps because it's startled the deer take off. He always shook his head about it because the dogs didn't do much about the deer (the occasional barking but mostly they just looked at the deer like "so what?") but the barn cats always acted like the garden was theirs and the deer weren't allowed.

I've always loved the wild/barn cats in the garden because they keep out the critters, even the birds stay away from my veggies when the cat is out there. (He's quite the hunter, I've had to bury a few corpses before the neighbor's 4 yr old could see them ) The only thing he doesn't catch or try to chase away are the turkeys. But the turkey eat the ants and slugs so I'm okay with them.

I love my mousers. A grand total of two mice have ever tried to move into my home. I didn't even see signs of them before my indoor cats had killed and left them for me.

My cats don't like it as much as regular catnip but they still think it's great to roll in. They also think the rosemary and peppermint are great to roll in though.

Default maybe cats help against deer ?

hmmmm ..my cat (this particular one ) to best of my knowledge could not catch a piece of lasagna !...

But he is a sentinel and therefore a deterrent .......come to think of it we only had one visit from Mr. deer early on this season ...and were rather lucky most exceptional ....hmmmmm just maybe there is something to the cat spooking the deer !

I am just now trying to think what will go in the garden in 2016. These are a very few of the ones I will attempt to grow. Last year I had a hard time even growing weeds due to the crazy weather.

2. Snag's Pride
3. Red Brandywine
4.Bradley
5.Atkinson
6.JD's Special C-Tex
7Mary Huddleston
