Worth, do you have a well or are you on water supply?
Many times I have been glad of my own well due to water shortages, but contamination is an even more serious issue! You want to have some kind of filtration device as a backup. |

Guess you'll have to drink something else; beer for example.

No problem here. Even then there is no way I can go without water.unless the world dries up. I have extra water at home and I have big pressure canners. Plus a filtration system. Large stainless kettles. Canning jars. Worst case go to river collect water let settle in kettles siphon off and pressure can. Worth |

Effecting not only the water but many things people get at the store like lettuce produce and so on.
No way to clean it or so they say. Austin and its sheep have no idea how to live without fresh clean water or even bottled water. Not one time have they mentioned chlorine or Clorox to purify water. They are so dependent on the powers that be to take care of them they have no idea how to do anything themselves. |

this is what starts rioting... people not willing to work within a community for the good of the community. see what happens after the shortage....the person will be lucky to not to have to close their doors. locals remember.

Mid way through spring and the warmth has arrived early, had nearly a week of mid 20C but today rain is due which is most welcome as we have had three months of below normal rainfall, though its quite normal to have below normal rainfall

The water boil is on track to end Sunday so they say.
Some of the stuff I have heard on the news programs on the radio is unreal. What about washing dishes some ask. You can do one of two things and none of it was mentioned anywhere anyplace by anyone the city or the folks on the news. One is to use Clorox in the rinse water. Next is to put the dishes in the oven on low for a spell. My porcelain can take 450F for crying out loud. More than enough to kill anything big enough to die. I have no idea what temp the dish washer gets for the drying cycle. Weather warm and sunny today. Next cold front on the way. Worth |

first major winter storm is currently blowing through the area mean and nasty.
snow fall expected is in the 9 to 14 inch range. a good part of that is on the ground already or swirling around. visibility is not so good. the drive home from work was a slow go. winds are 25-30mph with heavier gusts. opening or closing a car door becomes a challenge. planes are grounded for the time being. one person stranded here that lives in new york said the weather there is supposed to be getting bad too. temps are in the 20s. wood stove is cranking, and we are hunkered down for the night. keith |
