Nicholas,
I would love to visit Spain, but probably not Andalusia with the high summer temperatures. I would want to feel I am no longer in Texas and in a cooler area possibly near the Pyrenees in Basque country or Catalonia. Andalusia is truly beautiful. |

Saw this old Bulldog Mack today.
Might have a five speed main transmission with a three speed Brown Lipe behind it. A thing of beauty. IMG_20181030_51289.jpg |

It is a beautiful truck. What engine did the old Mack trucks use, Cummins? I bet the engine in the truck is also a thing of beauty. Mack may have used an International or GM diesel engine or Detroit diesel.
I had a one ton, long bed chevy pickup with a Duramax diesel engine and an Allison transmission. The engine was great, but the transmission wasn't so great. It always overheated going over Raton pass pulling a thirty five foot, fifth wheel trailer. I loved my truck, but I wouldn't drive it today. It's to hard finding a parking spot long enough for it. Mack had/has their own engines I have driven several of them.
And worked on several oilfield pulling units with them. That puppy in the picture sounded sweet. I know it had at least ten speeds when the old guy was shifting. Worth |

How to post photos?
I don't post many photos so I have forgot the quick and easy way to do it. I don't want to do the FAQ way by creating an album. Would someone please remind me how to do it
Thank you, but I figured it out. Last edited by DonDuck; November 1, 2018 at 10:51 AM. |

Thanks. These were some old 8" mum pots I had lying around. All the vines grew together, so who knows what I will get when I plant the seed. I am assuming beans will cross like that. It should still be good enough for a market garden bean patch.

Gulf of Mexico (technically Galveston Bay)
Having an early lunch with DH (dear husband) today at the Saltgrass Steakhouse in my neighborhood. A bleak day.

The overall quality of the Texas gulf coast has improved tremendously over the past few years. I always envied the crystal clear water of the Florida gulf coast, but Texas is catching up. The upscale developments in residential, commercial, food, and entertainment have really made a difference. A good example is the Saltgrass you were sitting in.

another Gulf Of Mexico/Bacliff, Texas
I took this last week on the deck of Noah's Ark Bar and Grill, a Tiki Hut-like hangout serving seafood and American food. Met three of my girlfriends there. The water looked blue that day. Some people fishing from the pier. I NEVER have to eat frozen fish or shrimp.

Beautiful! That is the kind of surf I always looked for to wade fish. It is even more beautiful when the sun has set in the evening, but the sky is still glowing and reflecting on the water. It looks like a sea of diamonds sparkling.
