Not very nice here. Not enough plows either, body shops humming. There was a sharp cut off in snow amounts across the city. But hey, tomorrow is another day, another shot at 4 inches.

Not to torture all our northern friends, but I think we are almost good-to-go here in southeast Georgia. Temps for the next month look to be way above normal, and that gets us to the last frost date. Am in the process of hardening off tomato plants, and most of my outside in-ground stuff, is all starting to push new growth.

Just saw on the local news this morning the Detroit metro area has only had a little over 24 inches of snow so far this season, 5 inches below average. Im ok with that !

Do you know what station that was?

I ask because DTW has only had a little over 9 inches this winter (since November 2018). I am about 30 minutes away from the airport and we've only had about 8 inches so far. And the NWS official station at Flint's Bishop Airport shows roughly the same season total as the airport in Romulus.

Did Macomb County somehow get hit with three times as much snow as Wayne and Oakland Counties?

So far southeast Nebraska (Brownville...pop.130 so may not show up on some maps) has had 43 inches of snow this season so far with another month to go, or maybe 6 weeks. Average total year snowfall is 31 inches. I am one of the Nebraska Natural Resource District weather reporters so I can attest to the totals from my garden.

Last five years the average has been less than 12 inches per year. No problem with soil moisture this year I hope.

It has been cold and wet - then hot and dry - then cold - next week wet. Kids are out of school Monday and Tuesday because so many children and teachers are sick and missing school. There hasn't been any bad weather though.

I just sowed my seeds 24 hrs ago. Anticipated plant out late March to early April. In 1917 I jump too too early. I learned ny lesson well.

Goes to show how diverse Texas can be. Spooky is planting and right now, we have 32F actual and with the wind chill, 21F here in north Texas. And damp to boot, but no rain yet, supposed to get ice tomorrow evening.

Forecast for the next two days is for the coldest temperatures in 25 years, minus 16-17 C with windchills below -30 C.
It's very unusual to see so much bare ground at this time of year. Not mostly bare by any means, but certainly bare patches among the remains of drifts unevenly covering most of my garden. Part of one garlic bed is exposed, and that's a worry. As for my driveway it's totally clear without any effort on my part, which is pretty much a "never" for February past. Won't be going anywhere during the "frostbite risk" all the same.
