Well we have stayed consistently below normal temperatures for weeks, so I was very happy to get out this morning with no wind and just a dusting of about 5 cm of snow to push around. My sympathies to you Keith!!! for the five foot drifts. We do usually get a pile of snow in february but not at all this time. I expect some folks will be sorry about that when water is rationed during the summer, but I have no worries with my deep artesian well. Another little spatter of 'everything' coming overnight (snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, etc) with a forecast of 4C tomorrow, and that is the first temperature above freezing for a long time.

Bundle up, Texas! Hope your plants make it through alright, Spooky Shoe!

I probably should not be complaining since there are so many people right now who are much more affected by the weather than I am. I don't have to worry about losing power and my home not having any heat or not being able to travel to the grocery store for food because of the snow. I fear for my plants but at least I do not have to fear for my safety. So stay safe everybody.

Donna, make sure you open up the pins and let the air in so as not to cook the plants , if the sun comes out, even partially. I don't know how many hours the temp has been in the 30's, but things don't get really touch and go unless it gets below freezing and frost gets on the plants.

At those temps, even if there is damage they will most likely bounce back. We start panicking in the north when the temp is forecast at 40 and it actually goes down near 28.

Sadly, there were 23 tornado related fatalities in Lee County, AL, yesterday. Officials say they expect that number to rise....

I believe Mr. Bill (b54red) lives in that general area...?

Hope all in the tornado areas are okay, tornados are just so dangerous.

Instead of warming up as the day went on, it is colder here, now at 16F actual and a wind chill of just 1 F. My feet are stinging, LOL.

Imp, you're trying to get through this winter with no heat. Pile all your covers on your bed, add a few coats on top of that, put the electric heater nearby, and crawl under the covers. Or (this is my favorite), run a very hot bath and sink in & soak till thoroughly thawed out.

Be safe!

I spoke to friend from Port St. Lucie, FL this afternoon. He said it was 84 degrees.

In central NJ we're expecting an overnight low of 17.

it's a long way from North Texas to New Jersey. My morning temp this morning was 19 degrees. New Jersey was 17 degrees. This has been a crazy winter making North Texas feel like it is very close to New Jersey.

minus 4 yesterday morning.
sunny though, and temp climbed to around nine degrees. what is truly amazing
is watching icicles hanging from our metal roof melting when it was only around 4 degrees outside.
forecast calls for a high near 15. we have a ways to go to get there.
it is overcast with snow showers currently.

I woke up to 31, clear sunny skies and no frost.
