Pretty, and a nice thick wall too. How much burn? More than a jalapeno? I am always looking for not too hot peppers, LOL!

Those are really nice! Those jalapenos are marvelous. I love them at this stage.

It looks like your Tobasco's pull off their stems when you pick them. Mine do and it frustrates me. My Tobasco's are much smaller than yours. They are a pain to harvest. I have to use them immediately since their stem end is opened on most of them after I pick them.

I like them to pop off easy and not have the stem attached, it makes cleaning them easier. The ripe red ones are easy but the other colors you have to take the stem too. If the red ones get too ripe then it pops open the pepper.

This 'Gypsy' is loving being out of the 95 degree heat now. I picked a lot of these peppers yesterday pre-storm to keep wind whipped branches from maybe snapping.




Maule's Red Hot cayenne is one I've grown for four or five years now. Nice large cayennes. It too is enjoying the cooler temps and is setting bunches of peppers.

It's hot as a jalapeno maybe a bit hotter, the sweet taste at first... Makes up for it... But I only tried one!

I wish these corked Jalapenos were bigger, even the plant is short but they've been producing like crazy and turn red fast. I think I'm gonna over winter a few.

These are over wintered Ghost plants, there's 3 plants in this container. I used potting soil, perlite and topsoil for the grow media and it seems to me the topsoil makes a big difference in the health of the plant compared to the other plants growing in just potting soil. All of them were fertilized the same way and top dressed the same time.

I need to top dress again and maybe if the weather holds out I can get another flush of peppers.

I'm sure it's just in my head, but to me, it seems the corked red jalapenos are a bit more floral and sweeter - along with the heat - than non corked ones.

With a hard freeze coming, I picked the last of the porch peppers for the summer. These are Big Mustard Mama and Big Black Mama. Hopefully the pic displays ok. I am uploading straight from my phone for the first time.
