Bughunter, My counters are not long or wide enough to hold over 100 lbs of green tomatoes.

Idahowoman, we had the same type of spring. Pretty much everyone had to wait until almost mid June here in Portland to plant out. I also cut off all the buds and small tomatoes about a week ago so the plants can focus on ripening the good sized tomatoes.

Tomorrow I will try the shovel method.

I too have quite a few green ones left on the vines, especially KBX, a few have started to blush, I've also got alot of black cherry left on the vines, and if I heard correctly the weather is supposed to warm up again in my area, so I'll leave them out there green and wait and see what happens. In the mean time hubby and I are outside working to clean up, put down compost and I'll be sending off to Johnny's for some Winter Rye real soon,
