I think that because Heather is doing such a large & awesome tomato/pepper exchange there weren't really many of those sent in to this swap. A lot of people actually specified "no tomatoes." So, it is just a few people who sent them in & a few people wanting them back... It ended up like a mini-tomato seed exchange within the exchange - if that makes sense!
& yes, only one person sent in Tigerella & they ended up with a lot of your send ins! |

LOL....ok....I don't see any problem with a mini exchange within the main exchange. And since I have limited space at the moment, I'm not going to try to expand my "other veggies"...and I have quite a few herbs now.
Ok...one solved for sure. |

I'd be happy to get out and grow anything right now... other than snow balls. Uggg. I went out and wandered around my brussels sprouts & parsnips tonight. I still have celery & broccoli - even after last nights killing freeze! Not much longer though. I actually have One little snow white (how apt) tomato in the unheated greenhouse that just ripened up a bit today. So, in it came to have a seat with me next to the fireplace!
If you can make it over here in about 10 minutes I have about half a dozen Snow White Cherries and some homemade wine to share! |

ROFLMAO.....uh....even at light speed and evading cops I don't think I'd get there in time, Nicky....even though you're not that far away. But thanks for the offer. Enjoy them...I'll dream of them and enjoy them vicariously.
And thanks for the offer to grow something right now....lol. Not sure what you could grow at this time of the year outside. My Swiss chard and leaf mustard are still kicking...but pretty much anything left in the pots is dead. Although the crazy thing is that with the warm weather last week, I was seeing new growth on many of the herbs, flowers and shrubs. Go figure. Thankfully we only had a dusting of snow last night...and pretty much the same the night before. Moving before next spring is on the agenda, so hopefully I won't have the same issues with space and neighbours complaining about pots/containers....sighhhhhhhh....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Zana |

My flower beds got a killing frost last night. The herbs are still ok - except the ones that died ages ago. Sage, Thyme, Oregano, Rosemary - all big & green... my naturalized daffodils (came with the house - about 8 billion of them) started to poke up in my backyard last week. They are gone now. Luckily they are unkillable.
I hope that your next place works out better for gardening. Are there any community plots around your area? I am in Kitchener all of the time because of the kids, but I don't really know it very well. Cheers... mmm... last tomato gone! |

Tried working in community plots before...but more than half of my harvest got ripped off...and one year most was vandalized....grrr. So am not in favour of that option. Have tried to do it at somebody else's place, but that didn't work out either...their dog snacked on the maters right off the plants. LOL....I can laugh now...but was annoying then.
Not all of my stuff is dead yet, but close. Ah well....it had to happen sooner or later. PS....I hope it was tasty. |

My dog used to eat my red cherry tomatoes. Only the red cherries though. Easy enough - grow red cherries for him... everything else for me! The raspberries we fought over I hate to admit it... poor little Snow White was a spitter! The seeds had sprouted! Argh... not worth the drive... Oh well... snacking on the dehydrated ones instead (where there's a will there's a way)!!! |
