I mixed the neem with water as I've used neem before for other uses and didn't want the full strength on the leaves and sprayed late afternoon when the sun had pass over.

I just can not believe my luck with trying to grow some tomatoes, honest to goodness this is going to be my next to last try on them. LOL

The whiteflies are terrible here also this fall. I have held off using a take down type poison all year but finally had to go for it the other day. I was hoping my abundance of Assassin Bugs would slow them down; but they haven't. I did what has worked in the past. I mixed a batch of spray with some liquid soap, molasses and Permethrin and sprayed all my tomatoes thoroughly being extra vigilant to get the undersides of the leaves first thing in the morning. I then waited two hours and before the sun got hot I sprayed all of my plants with a garden hose with just a hard spray of water making sure again to concentrate on the undersides of the leaves and the ground under the plants. I went out yesterday and sprayed with the plain water again and it appears that most of the whiteflies and aphids are gone for now; but they may come back in a few days. Some years they are really bad and others years I hardly see any at all. I have not had too much trouble with disease from them but during dry weather they can devastate plants by just sucking the life out of them if they get too thick.

Ladybugs usually keep them in check during the spring but they always leave my garden by midsummer and don't return again til the next spring no matter how much food is available to them. I often wonder if birds are eating them because I always have an abundance of them in the garden every year flitting from plant to plant constantly feeding on something.

Well the afternoon took a look and two of the lemon cucumbers are dead, several of the tomatoes are dying.

I'm so fed up with the money on the plants, that I keep paying out to just have a few veggies.

I might as well have taken the money and thrown it out the window of the truck.

I thought I could try again, but I just plain give up.
