Matt's Jollies is new. Brand new this past season. It is from a filial level from Matt's Wild and Casady's Folly. I am sure it is sold out til next year, providing I ever sell something two years in a row.

My batch of seed from this go-around arrived today. They will get planted tonight. I really love trying these out. Last year I made a seperate garden space for Tom's plants and it was an often visited space! Really fun to see what develops.

This year I have added 30 new ones....Weeeeeee!!!

My wife asked today why I go to the mailbox as soon as I hear the mail truck every day, mine still aren't here. Waiting on the last two of Tom's blues to complete this years list is killing me.

Being able to set my plants out to get some sun in March is helping me deal with waiting though...

That one made me smile. I understand the run to the mailbox!

I bet they will arrive very soon.

Mine got here today, they were planted within minutes of arrival.

That brings me to 11 blue ones this year, I should have some colorful mixed baskets come late July/August!

I am very excited to be growing Tom's tomatoes this year. I have Blue Match and a bonus seed packet of Mix the Two. Can anyone tell me about Mix the Two?

Tom may weigh in, or you can try PM'ing him about it. I got a bonus pack labeled Blue Bayou that he told me was a very blue large salad size tomato that was F4 generation seed.

He said he named it thinking of Linda Ronstadt singing Blue Bayou.

Now I'm curious what everyone got as bonus seeds that didn't make the web site list.

I don't think I got around to taking a picture of my Russian Cossack tomato. I have a few plants growing that my webmaster started, but it won't be till late this summer before I can take pictures of the fruit. Maybe I can find pictures of the JOIN OR DIE tomato...it would look similar. I am waiting for the 60 customers for that tomato to report back. I am sold out of Russian Cossack. I even sent F-1 and F-2 seed of it to a few folks in order to expand on selection possibilities.

Russian Cossack was a single plant grown by my friend Sue in Mukilteo, Washington. It was a 2 1/2 inch black tomato with pink and green stripes on a semi-determinate vine.

MIX THE TWO is a variety I randomly sent to just two people. Named because it was a nice mix of stripes and blue. It was one of my candidates for keeping within my category...SEARCHING FOR THE BLUE ZEBRA. Any feedback on it might determine if I want to release it on the newworldcrops.com website. The website is not at all what I wanted it to be but it allowed folks to sample some of my work.

I got some of that with my first order. When I put in the second order after they added a few more varieties I put in a note kind of letting them know it was my second one and I got the Blue Bayou with that order...

Matt's Folly was one of the best tomatoes for me in 2011. Moreover, it is very productive.J 'was able to enjoy these tomatoes from June to January.
