So glad to hear that you are safe and sound.
I know this is sacrilege, but when push comes to shove, they are just tomatoes and a pumpkin, and you can grow more. We all like you, so please don't do that again, OK? |

Your mother is right, I should have stayed behind brick walls but I was too worried.
Thank you Rebel. Quote:

Julia,
Glad to see you and your gardens have survived. We seem to be getting one nasty storm after another this year and the winds have been unbelievable. Still, we're much better off than those worried about forest fires sweeping over their homes or spending more than a week in this heat without electric. May our prayers be with all of them too! Thank goodness, your OK. Enjoy! Camo |

Hi Camo,
It's been a very odd weather year for sure. Having lived in Colorado and Montana for close to 27 years I can agree with you fully concerning wildfires...NO THANK YOU!! I'll take this weather any day! And about the electricity being out; I have friends in Southern WV that have had a bit of a difficult time and thank the good Lord that their electric has been restored a couple of days ago. Sorry to hear about your tomato and pumpkin loss Julia.Yeah those gusty winds really kicked up didnt they? We were lucky here, only had a patio table shatter after being thrown over.No damage in the garden tho.I stake my tomatoes up with large pvc plus the cages, and tie them up good.Ive found that works pretty good. Julia
Glad to hear you made it through with not too much damage, even a little is sometimes hard to deal with.

Oh man! I'm just reading this! Scary stuff but SO glad to hear it's not "too bad". Is your giant pumpkin okay?

You know, I had left my sister's house tonight and saw the huge looming cloud that stretched on forever...and realized my cats had no food (heaven forbid, no one would sleep tonight!) so I ran into the A&P. I heard nothing. Came out and everything was wet, but not wet enough to have been a huge storm. Just drizzle. I was looking forward to a nice heavy rain honestly, what a bummer.
It sure did cool things off though, thankfully. Glad the damage was minimal and that the great pumpkin has been spared! (and you as well Julia!)

Well Thank you.
I fully understand to the depths of my soul having to keep the cats fed and happy. We have two. Damage was indeed minimal and everything including Jet Jaguar the great pumpkin is once again smiling. Thank again Quote:
