I've never had a GWR BLT, but for some reason it sounds really appealing. I know I'd like the tang of the tomato.

Deborah , when you say tangy taste I think you're closer to referring to an unripe green tomato.

I grow the green when ripes and seek them out b'c of the delicious combination of lucious sweetness as well as a certain spiciness to them.

I could list maybe up to 20 or more varieties that I've grown, and I've loved every one of them with few exceptions, from the small fruited varieties to the larger fruited varieties.

Do they all taste the same and do all produce the same? No, they don't which is why different folks have favorite varieties.

And no, I'm not going to list my faves; there are many folks who have already done so in this thread.

Live dangerously, try some next season.

So far this season, Grub's Mystery Green has pretty good fruit set. It was one of the earliest ones to set fruit as well. I took these pictures on 4/24.

Bill, I can find a commercial seed source for what's called Cherokee Green Stripes, which has a different origin from the original Cherokee Lime.

Do you know of a commercial source for Cherokee Lime seeds? A Google search brings up nothing and the SSE2013 Yearbook has no listing for it and Tania doesn't either.

I never got to grow it b'c no one ever sent me the seeds.

Carolyn, a dedicated GW ripe person
Carolyn, at this point, rather than a commercial source, I would suggest AmiDeutch, Suze Anderson, or me as seed sources for Cherokee Lime. I do not know if Cherokee Lime ever was listed in the Yearbook. And I do not know who has the freshest seeds at this time. My freshest seeds will be 3 years old at the end of this summer, and I don't even know right now how many I have left. My supply is a mix of the line I originally got, plus regrows of the line I got back from AmiDuetch and the line I got back from Suze ... all of which were identical for all practical purposes.

Bill, why do you think I put a wink after the sentence when I said no one had sent me the seeds.

I would very much like it if you could send me some seeds for your regrows of Ami's .

Suze is no longer here at TV as you know, so I don't think that's a viable option.

If I could have one of my seed producer folks grow it next season, I would SSE list it, it isn't listed yet, and also send seeds for trial to the various seed sites I do almost every year.

And those include:

TGS
Victory
Gleckler
Jeff's Heirloom's of Airdrie

And there are many seed site owners who participate in my annual seed offer as well.

Did you really want folks to ask you or Ami in a thread like this? Has Ami agreed to it?

Finally, in return I'd like to send you some seeds for Delano Green Ripe which Neil Lockhart thinks is one of THE best GWRipes he's ever grown.

As an extra freebie I'll throw in Sarkarnyi Slon, b'c I like the name; Sugary Elephant.

How about Heartbreaker, some Fred bees, and a huge red beef from Ghana named Loka, from the prison market.

All of course depending on seed production this summer.
