It may also be that peppers are packed with vitamin c.

Yes, a lot of vitamin C and capsaicin. Both beneficial things to our body.

I think I have a map or two around where it says Old Mexico on the map.

Now tell me how did the apostrophe end up in the Chili's in the chain restaurant.

Is it meant to be possessive or plural.lol:

Worth
Neither possessive nor plural,
it ended up being a contraction of Chili Peppers Grill and Bar.
The cute idea is replacing the pepper by the apostrophe
because the punctuation mark is shaped like a curved pepper.

That's the official explanation since the 1980s or is it 1980's.

I love the endorphin rush I get from eating super hots. Thai chi peppers are perfect with some cheese crackers and milk. Also, some Morugas and Reapers in my chili (I say pepper and chili is the result of cumin and a lot of other spices. ;-) )

Oh, just to let y'all know, it's Hatch Chili season.
FYI, Hatch is NOT the name of the chili. There are several varieties that make up the chili's Hatch season......
There's another conversation......

Thinking of buying some and canning them.

Someday I would love to attend the Hatch Chili festival.

I just roasted, peeled and froze a few dozen Big Jim NuMex and Aneheim's last week. I actually got a few red ones this year!

The Charbroil Big Easy Roaster-Smoker-Grill -- yes, it is a great grill! There are just two of us, so it's the perfect size for grilling meats and veggies for dinner, I cook pizza on it using wood pellets for smoke to give it that wood-fired oven taste, we've smoked ribs and pork butts in it, and for the last two years it has provided a perfectly cooked Thanksgiving turkey, freeing up the oven for all the sides.

Last year I roasted the chilis under the broiler and it wasn't easy getting them all nicely blistered without charring them too badly and not burning myself in the process. Last week I was walking by the grill on my way to the back door with my basket of chilis and thought, hmmm, I bet it would be a lot easier to roast them on the grill. It was!
