Dorota that's wonderful news. Do you know if they will be fresh seeds or older seeds, and if the latter Karen knows how to wake them up.

Carolyn, I am so excited too. I have never heard about this tomato before. It is very rare variety, almost nobody has the seeds.

Karen, the forum member, who will send me the seeds, said that they are not fresh, but should germinate without no problem. If you need an exact date, if it will help you to start the seeds, I will ask her how old this seeds are.

I have had no trouble germinating older seeds. I find tomato seed lasts for years stored. If the age is known that's nice to know but not necessary.

Paw (PAF 182) tomato is well-known in Poland.

I believe you can still buy it from the seed company PlantiCo.
They are still maintain its seed production.

P.S. We call a tomato POMIDOR in most Slavic countries :-)

Andrey, I found this web page too, when I googled for the tomato Paw. Unfortunately, this variety is not registered in the varieties register now, and as I know isn't sold by any seed company.

Dorota has a few seeds entire already. Thank you so very much!
As a side note, several people who participate in her garden forum in Poland are planning to grow it and save seed to revive this variety which used to be popular but has been sort of forgotten. That is wonderful!

Thank you so very much Dorota, I am very happy to have received your card and seeds today in the mail!
Of the 9 seeds I will keep 3 and send the other 6 to my friend so that hopefully between us will will be able to grow at least one fruiting plant to save seeds from. I will be certain to post in this thread if we are successful and will share seeds of it with others so that this once popular but now rare tomato is not lost. I hope you will also post the result of the growout of Paw to be undertaken in Poland by your group as well. Seems like a tomato worth saving and I am excited to grow and taste it (with any luck and some TLC of these older seeds).

I have one plant growing. Started out quite abnormal, one weird cotyledon and no normal growth tip. I was sad because it is so rare and I wanted to try it and save seeds. Normally I dispose of abnormal seedlings straight away but I kept this one to see what it would do.
