Warm drinks in the winter and cold drinks in the summer where I live.
For some reason I have a hankering for a Mojito. For tomatoes it would be a tojito. Worth |

While this isn't about drip irrigation - it is about irrigation. When we visited El Paso and Anthony New Mexico - the farms there were irrigated from deep ditches off of the Rio Grande River. When I think of El Paso, my first thought is hot and dry. The water in those ditches was cold - very cold in 85F degree weather. I talked to one farmer there. I asked what he added to the soil to make it grow such beautiful cotton plants - his answer, "Water". I wish I could go back and see how farming is done there.
Sorry if that was too off-topic. I would warm the water too. I do it myself until the weather starts warming up. |

The faster water evaporates the colder it can get like in evaporative cooling.
This may or may not explain the irrigation ditch water being cold. I have no idea but I do know you can make ice in the arid desert doing this. Worth |
