Wow, the yellow/red bicolor is BEAUTIFUL!
The first one is gorgeous too, shiny between those two complementary colors. (One day I'll read the whole topic) |

Congrats on everything so far, Karen! Now, as far as that one tomato goes.. wow! That thing is HUGE.. Is that a Midnight Sun, or...? Also, when do you anticipate that one being available to the rest of us? Just curious.

Thank you all for your kind words. I’m not concerned too much about those fellas.
These beefsteaks just starting on the road to stabilization so will need several generation more but the Karmas are mostly stable and the potato leaf hearts are all nearly ready for trial as well. Preference for such trials as they happen is given to people who follow the threads I and Marsha have posted and who agree to give some feedback. It’s quite exciting to see others grow tomatoes I have bred. I sure hope they do well for people that try them as they are released. This is where you will hear about that as the time for releases happen Thank you for the continued support and encouragement Karen |

Go show them what a little ol housewife can do, girlfriend. They can stick it if they dont think you are good enough. Your stuff tastes so much better than 95% if what else I have tasted.

I've read the thread. Wow, what an amazing job. Midnight sun is gorgeous. And True Colours could be the most beautiful tomato ever. I am really impressed.

I want to change my answer. There is NOTHING wrong with being a housewife and people might be AMAZED at what a housewife can do.

Heck, I know there's things we (as small scale breeders) can't easily do, such as mass selection, but to be dismissive of someone's efforts just because they're not a 'professional' is short-sighted, and well, stupid. |

Makes no difference, mainly just select cluster B blowhards on Facebook groups and easily managed by leaving the group.
Water off a duck. I shall carry on with my own projects. K |

They are wonderful pictures !
1) Wonderful pictures and work !
2) We are not worthy .. such good work (or Blackbear at least for sure ) 3) Facebook is overrated and easily abused. 4) I always thought you wuz ..professional . 5) Many amateur breeders (or part time ) have contributed much to the cause of Tomato advancement and wonderment. (Just look at all the stuff from amateur Russian breeders for example .) Keep up the wonderful effort .

Don't pay any attention to those idiots, Karen. "The proof is in the Pudding", or in this case, the tomato. If they taste half as good as they look, you have loads of success to look forward to. I'm sure you're going to have tomatoes on many gardeners' must-grow lists.

Yeah, well the world has enough tomatoes with earliness, production and flavour, said no-one ever.
