By now you are probably a little confused with all those names thrown at you. Since you mentioned whites, I got a couple of those to throw out. I searched a while to find ones I didn't think were bland. I found Davids Ivory Pineapple that was productive and very tasty last season. That was beefsteak size. Smaller and equally flavorful is Blonde Boar. I agree with Pork Chop being flavorful and well worth growing. I, too, love AGG but find it not productive enough to warrant growing it. I just love serving a plate of sliced tomatoes with as much variety of color as I can find.

Travis, that is very interesting about the GWR's.

And Lillian's Yellow Heirloom, along with Basinga, are two that do remain yellow at maturity.

I like the former much better than the latter. The creaminess of the flesh of Lillian's is somewhat unique IMO.

GWR types are yellows with the addition of the green flesh (gf) gene which causes retained chlorophyll to stain the yellow flesh, resulting in flesh that appears green when the tomato is fully ripe.

For reasons not fully understood by me, the retention of chlorophyll in the flesh of the yellow tomato adds noticeable highlights to the flavor of yellow tomatoes. The foliage also benefits from chlorophyll retention in terms of plant health.
Walt, please do consider some of the GWRipes. IMO they are outstanding in terms of a spiciness you won't find elsewhere and they come in different sizes from cherry up to big beefsteaks.

Fact is, they are one of my favorites and I've grown many, and would be glad to list a few if you are interested.

Fact is, they are yellows which I think has improved the taste considerably just by the addition of the gf gene that Travis mentioned above.

Carolyn, I'd love to get your opinion on the GWR types you like. I may be at capacity this season. But who knows what's a couple more plants. I have some emerald evergreen seeds and I might just throw a couple of those in the germinating tray.

Djena Lee's Golden Girl very zingy, but there is a richness to the taste. It supposedly won at the Chicago Fair 10 years in a row for taste. I am growing it now, medium high production, healthy plant, still going since transplant last October.

Also Cherokee Lemon, from Cherokee Purple Parentage. This one is lemon yellow, not golden or orange, 6-12 oz fruit, really nice balanced taste, pretty early too.i am offering seeds for this one in my seed offer for just a stamped envelope. The thread is titled " more seeds for SASE. I can probably give you a few Djena Lee's seeds too.( those are not a general offer folks).

Above is the seqence of events that led to most of the CP variants, which some folks might be interested in.

Ami did send me some Cherokee Lime seeds as noted in the above link and wanted them shared with Tania, which I did.

One of my wonderful seed producing folks will also grow it out this summer, and I hope to offer it in my next seed offer in January.

Wow ten years in a row. Surely that's a yellow worth trying.

I sent you a pm.

I'm enjoying learning about the variants. I thought I knew a little about tomatoes, but you all are on a much higher level than I am.

Is it a requirement that we have grown it or can we suggest something that may have caught our eye?

Walt I'm looking forward to your taste tests on these arrays of yellow/orange/green tomatoes, as I don't have the room to do a side-by-side of so many goodies up here in the hinterland.

Andrey, I looked at a variety that I rec'd from David (dwl) some time ago, "Yellow Giant" (ab), I assumed that might have meant it came from you as he also had many others that he had traded with you. Have you ever heard of Yellow Giant or might it have another name? Patty
