Don't know how I missed this thread, Marsha, but I'm awe-struck by your amazing middle-of-winter haul! Beautiful pics, too. Definitely give Terhune another try- always gives me way more than 7 fruits even on a pruned vine. Then again my season lasts longer than yours, I guess. Enjoy!
kath Oh- our posts crossed! You're most welcome but it was you who was generous to share your few BS seeds with me, so I was more than happy to send you some. Last edited by kath; January 14, 2015 at 09:06 PM. |

Esmeralda Golosina- beautiful acid and sweet complex flavored green when ripe saladettes, on a potato leafed monster of a plant. I bet there are 45 fruits forming on it, and it keeps on going.

Black and Brown Boar- lovely striped brownish heart shaped saladettes, taste was 7.5/10, worth a grow because it is so productive. Not sweet, more old fashioned flavored.

Talavera Native, beautiful, super productive, deliciously sweet, pink, 8oz, flattened, ribbed, pink with green shoulders fruit, very early too. These were needing to be grown out as the seed were getting old. A girl traded them to me who got them from Dan McMurray, and never grew them out, so I did. They will be back next year, I think.

The inside of the Talavera Native looks extremely interesting. I added it to my SASE wish list. I have found that my favorite varieties in years past - all have a lot of seeds. My opinion may change in years to come? Right now, the Talavera Native just says mmmmm all over it.

Microbeicum Occemus- i really fell in love with this sweet, complex, gorgeous, intense, super abundant producer of deep pink little mini beefsteaks sort of cherry sized. You can't go wrong with this one, and I will grow again, maybe next year. This was another one fron the Dan Mcmurray seed grow out. He sure knew how to pick his varieties. BTW- the name is a made up name without a real translation according to several folks who speak several languages.
