Lovely photos, the ones I can see. The Jaune Flamme X Black cherry cross looks especially beautiful. For some reason, I cannot see all of your pics!

Nice looking crop. congrats.
You just put tomatoes whole in the freezer and then can later? I've been having a lot go bad, never thought about just sticking them in the freezer whole. Always cook first and then use a suck-up bag to store. Would be nice just to chunk in freezer and use when time permits. Does it have any negative effect? |

Excellent congratulations! Would you mind listing your top 5 in one post?
I'm not familiar at all with Brimmer. Reading about it now, I don't see productivity mentioned as a characteristic, but it sounds like it did great for you? Was it maybe in a really prime spot in your garden? May have to get seeds to check that out next year. To what do you attribute what you call your best year ever? It is always good to learn from successes and not just from failures! Dewayne Mater |

Just wondering; how do you keep your frozen tomatoes from staring to taste "funny"? Mine always start tasting like, eh, freezer?

Charley, your tomatoes are lovely. I agree with Purple Dog Creek being in your top five list. It does really well for me and the flavor is fantastic. One of my favorites.
Limbaughs Potato Top is one I keep wanting to try. It is on my list for 2016. I will have to look up Brimmer. This is the first I heard of it. My tomatoes are still mostly green, with a few Margaret Curtains and some cherries that ripened up. With this heat we had this week it should help speed up more blushing. Thank's for sharing. Ginny |

That is also what I think. Some fruits and vegetables have enzymes that need to be killed (by blanching) before freezing. I think tomato is one of them. Also, unless you have lots of freezer space, freezing whole tomato will take a lot of space. Some people would make sauce and fill in zip bags and then freeze. It will take less than 1/2 space this way, maybe 2/3 less. YMMV Gardeneer |
