Those chive flowers look very pretty.

That's what I want - an area where herbs and vegies are growing wild.

Also grow asparagus and artichokes. They're hardy here.

Also hardy, and very tenacious, is horseradish. It has beautiful leaves (they even make a variegated variety) and a large attractive flower plume.

And Egyptian walking onions- no flowers but the huge top sets are interesting & tasty.
