I recently heard that a survey showed that women prefer men with a caveman face, sort of like mine and Brad Pitts, so go ahead and post the Dam picture! :-) That piggy thing makes me want to BBQ. LOL!

I no longer have the pic... I thought I saved & edited it, but I guess I edited it and saved it instead. But it kinda looks like Earl's avitar... just younger, thinner, less gray, and wearing shades... plus just a little handsomer... 8) Will my driver's license pic from a couple years ago do? Oh yeah, my hair is longer than Earl's too... by about 9-10 inches...

You all are too funny!

Mark,
I PMed you first before coming to read the posts. I asked if you had went to the event and all. Obviously you did! Congrats on winning some best tasting ones. I hope you have some ripe ones of those varieties a couple weeks from now.

Sorry this has taken so long, I was occupied! Here are finally pictures of tomatoes! But this was an event open to the public, so I didn't feel that I could stand there taking pictures of each variety individually, there are just some pictures of the tables, so you can see a little of what was there. And there was a salsa taste competition where the general public could eat and vote, and I had two favorites which I would have loved the recipe for. Mmmm.

I e-mailed Mark the picture of himself without the pumpkin head, so he has both versions now, in case he gets talked into posting it.

The third picture show the judges in action, trying to decide which tomatoes are the best. What a great job!

Do you have any other pictures of that cool looking dress on the nice woman manning the salsa table?

What a handy place to keep the corn chips.

Besides that, were any of the salsas h-o-t?

I will e-mail you all the pictures I took of the lady you liked, Mark! :-)

Grub, only one of the salsas made me take an extra breathing breath to cool off my mouth, and I am a wussie when it comes to hot food. None of the salsas were too hot for me, not even close.

Hilde said some were hot. She gave me some to try but I didn't detect any heat... maybe my tastebuds are gone?

Grub, did you see that monster GMG shaped like a 3 leaf shamrock next to the cookies?

Also, if you're not talking about that lovely lady in the cool dress, those containers with slots are the ballot boxes for the salsas, not for corn chips... unless I missed something you saw (I know you missed something I saw. )

I also should point out that that first pic of the table with the tomatoes was early in the day before everyone entered everything... some classes ended up with maybe 4 entries, some less, some more. Also, they broke everything down further into Heirloom and Hybrid classes so that's why there may not have been 5-10 entrants in 1 class, and they even separated Cherry & Grape classes.

For the salsa, I think there were 3 heat level classes plus Fruit Salsa class. There was also a class for Best Use of Fresh Tomatoes or something similarly worded. And there was a class for recipes--one lady, the grayish blonde lady in the last pic at the right rear of the salsa table, entered Tomato Marmalade. She brought it canned (jar) and it couldn't go into the Fruit class because it didn't have the proper size container for salsa entries.

We should propably contact Marcia or Patty for a list of final results to post them here--maybe the recipes too... I wonder if those were "Tomato Cookies?"

Mark,

I think yours is one of, if not the, biggest and best-looking GMGs I have ever seen. A whopper... I love it!

Maybe the salsa's need a touch of hab?

I missed nothing, Mark Better not show that pic to seven-month old Summer... he he he.
