The lower leaves turning yellow may be an indication of potassium deficiency. Potassium in a plant is mobile and when there is not enough, the newer leaves steal it from the older ones and so the lower leaves, the older ones, turn yellow.

Karen, regarding ZG, the leaves look thinner than most other RL plants, kind of like a heart. Very healthy, but wispy foliage. Do you observe this as well? |

Gotcha- that looks more like an Oxheart- but the elongated fruit must be expressed in the leaves as well. I'm looking forward to getting early fruit from this one!

My plant from Dan's seed is looking stunted and rather sickly compared to the other Big Zac next to it. I'm having poor pollination on all of my plants (except Early Girl, of course). Dan's plant has two growing fruit, but the megabloom was not pollinated completely, so it is horribly small on one side.

This tomato has a chance of growing big. It is made up of three and maybe four blooms in one. Take care of it.

So maybe end of May? I think it still has growing to do I don’t know circ but I know somehow you guys can calculate weight based on Circumference. It’s flatter than I wish it was One of my tundras might be heavier but I think it will finish growing sooner and blush K |

It probably has another 2 to 3 weeks to grow at least depending on your temperature of coarse,it's probably gaining 1/2" to 3/4" per day in circumference.

Plenty of water and fertilizer. It’s the only fruit in the plant I’ve been removing normal blooms as they form. K |

I have an interesting project going. I am trying for a large tomato in a small 3 gallon container, and I am pretty impressed so far. What gave me the idea is how frequently I would have to water it, and therefore feed it. 4 times a day at this point. I tried doing the same routine on one close by in a much larger container, I have caused physiological issues with element absorption, it just did not dry out fast enough.
We will see what happens, it has been too darn hot, which is not good, but at any rate it got big enough to put in a hammock. lol |
