Hmmm, I have seeds for Mocross Elgin #9, and I know just the person who will tell me what that is,I think.

Also

Mocross Carneal.

Sounds like a nice manageable number. I went a little crazy 'cause it's the last batch before I switch over to golf balls for the winter.

Default seeds

My seed saving efforts are usually like the top left, stepped it up on the other three. De Colgar varieties and Gribovsky. I'm sold on the bleach. And yes, lots more separating to be done with a skewer stick.

I finally did drip irrigation for the loose containers, and the rest are on the tubes, so while exhausting to set up, it is now just a matter of turning dials and valves for a few minutes.

Mee toooo! 4 trays, 2 of sunflowers, 2 of tomato seeds, 65 pepper seedlings already transplanted to the 4" pots. We must have started our warriors on just about the same day.

I can't wait until I see Zamorano's "elbows".

Gerardo, saw this and thought of you. Seen these varieties by Bill Jeffers? Some newer crosses where the grower can make his own selections on the direction of the plant's habit. (indeterminate, semi-, or determinate)

Heat tolerance was a consideration in many of these and of special interest to me was McMurray #10 and the Mozark X Sioux

Bill has been doing that for many years, but even better to me are the seeds Bill sent me for my next seed offer, which include these

First,the ones he bred

Eva Ste.Wendell
Rosedale
Little Dixie
Daniel Burson

and a few others I'd not grown yet

Sailors's Luck
Not Purple Strawberry
..... and Daniel Burson, which he also bred, sent seeds for a seed offer several years ago, those who got it loved it,he didn't know if it was stable yet, it was,and what better way to grow it here at home other than seeds from Bill.

Ones out back from the lists include

Rosedale
Little Dixie
Not Purple Strawberry
Daniel Burson

Eva was supposed to be there but a mix up via Rob,who grows my seedlings for me. Rob got 100% germination with Bill's seeds but when Freda went to pick up all the seedlings Eva wasn't there.

I'm not saying it's fantastic, but it sure is good. Big and dense. Sounds like a fun winter with all those trays.

Interesting. SOmeone does the cross and they release it at F2 or F3. That McMurray is intriguing. Perhaps a Colorado River collaboration is in the works here. We need a Colorado River tomato.

Carolyn:

Bill's tomatoes are strong contenders. Daniel Burson has been the first, and with that as a reference point I'm sure the others are just as tasty. I'm gonna start going through his varieties. Now I just have to get the seeds.

Scored close to 100 1-1.5in x 6-8ft bamboo poles. Uncle had no use for them.

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!---just like Don Logan.

100 Pudov is suffering a lot of BER. Can't explain it, crab meal in the mix along w dol lime, and I'm adding cal nitrate, plues they're on a tube so hydration is not an issue. 16 other plants on the same circuit show no BER. Solution will be personalized Calcium smoothies.

Alka is loaded, as well as HX-9, Cheste too, Macizo de Monserrat, Cowlick's, Momotaro, Daniels, Terhune, Margaret Curtain, Mikhalych, Gribovsky, Daniel Burson, Terhune Competition RL.

Transplanted Padron, Burpee kaleidoscope, Numex Big Jim, Calico, Red Mushroom, Jalapen~os to 1 gallon clay pots for their intermediate growth spurt before their final NC-3 homes.

Set up five 25 gallon rootpots with crw/chix wire screens mounted on 9 cinder blocks(3-3-3), for about a 3 ft height + the rootpot itself, so my mutts have to really put some effort to get at the corn. Sugarbaby, Luscious, Buttergold, Ambrosia. If they end up infiltrating the defenses then it may be gelding time, as they've been fighting amongst themselves too often also.

D'oh. Sorry to hear that about 100 Pudov. I did get a little BER when I neglected watering it. Yours might be happening for the opposite reason; it doesn't like the constant hydration of the tube setup.
