Today I added some store bought top soil and covered with news paper and mulch. Almost time!

I am going to put 4 plants in my bed and 2 more in separate pots.

I am planning on planting on the 15th. Does this sound like a good plan for GA, just east of Atlanta?

my guess is that the ground temperature is still pretty cold. in Atlanta, ground temperature was 45 degrees this morning. I would not plant until ground temperatures reach at least 60 degrees.

Thanks Scott, when does the soil usually get there? I got the march 15 date from some frost averages report I dug up on line somewhere.

Also, I sent you a pm a while back. I was wondering how much manure you needed. Can't wait to meet up with you soon...

I searched some more and it seems April 15 should be safe. I'm not sure why I was thinking march. I guess I'm just a little excited, gonna have to slow down...

FYI I'm retaking my Master Gardening class (just for the fun of it and to learn more more more) The ground temps need towarm up to 60 degrees, and I asked if one uses a soil themometer, how far down do you probe. "12 inches down." So there you go then. ; )
