DTM: Unsure of the number of days, but it's late mid-season or mid-to-late season.

But once they come through they keep coming.

Tom,
The discovery that stopped the nation was that I stumbled on a cross that gave a green-when-ripe PL tomato. I think Green Giant (GG) was the only other one as far as I know. Apparently, green fruit and PL leaves is a rare combo.

My understanding is that GG is a pure green-when-ripe with a tiny pink blush at the blossom end. GMG PL develops amber skin or amber hues and, occasionally in my garden, it can even turn to a light shade of orange in parts! Yet the flesh is as green as a kiwifruit.

The RL variant of GMG produces the exact same fruit. There are plenty of RL green-when-ripes, so it’s less special in that regard.

There has also been two incidents of small PL red fruit from my saved crossed seeds. Interestingly, one of these appeared in my garden and it gave red fruit like Kimberly but with the same flavour as GMG. I can taste the genetic connection.

So I think it would be good to save seeds from both for your own collection, but GMG should be PL. That's the one I'd offer for judging.

Those who didn't get seeds and emailed me should receive a stamped envelope with the second lot within 10 days. They were posted y'day.

I've decided top stop tending my tomatoes as they just won't stop producing. The best year ever in the history of The Grub. Still got Marianna's Peace, Green Giant and Grandfather Ashlock to go. Big Earl's Faux waiting for me any day now.

Regrowth city with Sophie's Choice, my first for the year, throwing flowers as though she wants to star in both opening and closing ceremonies.

Ditto other earlies. And Mountain Princess has been setting fruit in a pot all season long.

I won't bore you with the details. Ciao 8)

Big News... Planted 2 GMG PL seeds on March 5th. Heads popped up March 11th. True leaves now reaching for the light. Both are PL. Yip, yip, Yaa-Hoo!! I'm excited!!!
