Here's an update this afternoon. I have settled with the old and dove into the new. This is what my seedlings look like now.

Tomorrow, I will sew seeds for those sent to me by the best gardeners in this world. Thanks to those who sent me replacement seeds. You are the kind of people I would want as close neighbors.

Quite frankly, Zana, there weren't many of the old that survived at all. They just didn't seem to have the will to heal and grow. So, I'm almost totally brand new. Nobody will try harder than me to give a seedling a chance to live. But, the damage was just too extreme. I feel very fortunate to have extra seeds and the time to start them. I am very thankful that some super folks here could help me out in my time of distress. I'm gonna do something very special for them and try to show them just how thankful I am.

Wish I could've been of help this time around, Ted, but I didn't have what you needed. You paying it forward warms my heart. It's a good thing to do and a lesson I was taught in my family from childhood, before it was called that.

Here's some seeds from 2011. They came across the Atlantic and thru at least two postal systems. Note the little loop at the base of the left hand seedling. That's #3 trying to spread its wings. I put 5 seeds into that cell during the replant effort.

Ted, I wrote a long post a few days ago, but when I went to hit "Send" , I was informed that I wasn't logged in. So here is a quick rehash:


I can't see your photos in Firefox, which I am using now. When I switch to Explorer, voom they appear. Your seedling table is so neat and organized. I remember you had cups with a chopstick to keep everything growing straight, what a great method. Mine are twisting in every direction. Ugh!


I also mentioned that it was especially frustrating and painful for everyone to learn that rare and valuable seeds were compromised by a large uncaring company. Very frustrating that a species could have been lost forever. What a great group and big sigh of relief that others stepped in to complete your grow out of these rare varieties.


Now back to trying to see those cute seedlings come up :+

I thought I had messaged you that they did arrive. And I did plant them with the rest of the final replants. My apologies to you, but I have been totally scattered for the last 3 weeks. Between my disastrous start to my season, we've had some medical issues in the family. All is okay now, but it's certainly been a stressful stretch.

Ferris Wheel rests in the mix right beside Kodiak Brown.

I'll do a new post with pictures to show everyone who sent seeds that they are in the mix.

And, I'm gonna edit my post above to show Ferris Wheel. When I clicked it in my database, I discovered that I had clicked the wrong check box in my database. That meant that the software wouldn't pick it up as being on my planting list. I'll show that as well.
