Dripping sweat and it's only 8:18 am, both of my towels and body are soaked. I started at around 6:30am or so out there picking first, then spraying copper for the coming rain. It's 86 degrees and 70% humidity right now.

Then I watered everything and experimented on feeding using the Hozon. More on that in the Texas Tomato Food Thread since we are talking about it over there. I can say it was a success and I will explain what I did over there.

Starting to get some rain off of Cindy and supposed to get 2-3 inches and boy is it welcome. We have had less than 3/4 of an inch in the last month so it's getting very dry. Tomatoes have been pretty happy so far but beans and corn are lagging. Hope everyone that has had the excessive rain and excessive heat are doing OK.

61 degrees right now with an expected high of 70. The last three days have gotten to over 100 and this cooling is much appreciated. Looks like I'll be able to leave the windows open all day, which is very unusual for this area during the summer. Very hazy yesterday as the fires going on in Utah were sending a lot of smoke towards this area.

Yes Hoosier, here in Brownsburg been dry dry dry, and we are seeing over an inch of well needed rain! Went over to my other plants across town and there a few buried with water about 4" on stem - did not know the history of the ground before i planted I will try to trench out a drain after the rains only 12 plants there, a 100 here at the house and they are loving the rain and I should get a couple days rest from dragging hoses. Geez Louise it's some more windy today. Glad I am obsessed with tying up! Still, some of pepper plants though tied are laid to the side.

Cindy is kicking in gear outside my window now. I'll spray tomorrow evening & continue to attempt to keep disease under control. Spent the day canning green beans (late night tonight) and weeding in the garden. Great bean crop this year. We had 36 quarts out of one row. And still have a frig full (2nd row) to finish canning tomorrow.

It's the same here 100 degrees in Fort Worth feels like 112 at 5pm. I have caught a summer cold and had to go out in the heat to save our neighbor's kitten. It got its head stuck in an aluminum light hood. I had to cut the hood off of it. It feels like I just walked in from a sauna.

That sounds amazing! I have been picking a couple handfuls at a time, steaming and eating them immediately. I would love to be able to grow enough to freeze them.

We got up to 85 today after a thunderstorm blew through abot 11 this morning and was gone before 1. Dropped an inch of rain which we needed. Supposed to stay in the mid 80's over the weekend and more rain first of next week. Sounds perfect.

Official high today was 101, but I didn't see my thermometer get up to 100.

Fortunately, it's a one-time occurrence. Cold front through tonight so we may not get over 90 again until July.

Worth, I think you are tougher than that
I picked about a dozen or so just before dark. Mine (some of them) get woody when too big. I have to find out whicj variet is that so I avoid growing it the next time.

Talking about rain, we need a good soaking rain. I to 2" should do it. We have a 50% chance of T-storms tomorrow , 40% on Sunday. I hope it happens. I don't like dragging that 100ft water hose plus paying for the water.
I rather pray for the rain.
