Thought of starting a new thread but, thinking is not my strong point. Gotta question: Do orange Habs ripen from the top down??
Had a stinking hot day today and noticed some orange colour on the tops of a few fruit. Does not look like sun scald as this plant is in the GH/shade house. |

Uneven ripening happens as much with chillies as tomatoes. I think the majority of them should be fine.
How is the rest of the crop? I have only just planted out many of your kindly sent seeds. Cheers, Grub. |

Mariachi hybrid in the greenhouse is giving me lots of fruit. Nice amount of heat as well. Big jims of course but the outside peppers are all suffering what looks like blossum end rot. Garden Salsa, Anaheim and Cherapeno amongst them.
Going to dig them up and put them in the greenhouse soon. |

Hi ya Unc' Earl,
What are the peppers in your pic? You sure picked a peck or two. The yellow bonnet ones look h-o-t. Did you pickle them? Mantis, What is Cherapeno lik? Big, small, hot or not? I just put two in the patch. |

Grub, I'm not Mantis, but since I am the seed source for both of you, I'm going to butt in here.
Cherapeno is a stable cross between Hot Cherry and Jalapeno. Breeder was the famous (amongst chileheads) Matts Peterson of Sweden. Plant not too big, with round, jal-hot fruits in quite good numbers. Hope that you both like it. PS. Any help on my Wanted varieties post would be deeply appreciated. Grub, you have a standing invite to the fresh water sailing capital of NA (that being here in Kingston), guided by said sailing/fishing enthuast Aussie friends now in need of Aussie seeds. Ta muchly and cheers to all, Jennifer |
