Started out warm in April but cooled off in early May and almost caught me. Not hot, not wet and not humid. We'll see what the rest of the summer has in store for me.

Good luck with your fall season Robert, I hope it's light years better than your spring!

I'm excited to be growing KBX for the first time. They are getting big!

And the first wave of summer lettuce is doing really well. Another set of starts are just getting going. Those will follow onions.

Thanks Fred! Today I noticed first blush on my Ron's Carbon Copy (a fused blossom that is a rather large tomato) as well as Sunrise Bumblebee. The first Indigo Cherry Drops should be ready to eat in the next day or two, which will be the 3rd to ripen, behind Sunsugar and Sungold. RCC and SB will be 4th and 5th in some order. Did I read somewhere a lot of people like Sunrise BB best before the full color/stripes color up or maybe that was Blush (which I'm also growing but cannot do a DTM comparison because it and my Eva Purple Ball plant where stunted by the nearby broccoli, but are both now growing like mad since the broccoli was done)?

I was just out in the garden a bit more and also noticed my Wisconsin 55 and Zluta Kytice are also just starting to blush! Let the tidal wave begin!

2016 garlic is in the books and hanging in the garage. Got some good sized heads!! Garlic was followed by a second sowing of bush beans.

Yummy sweet snacking peppers are just loaded on my plants. I'll have to count but I bet each plant has 30+ peppers set. The red ones are just starting to turn.

The variety is actually called Yummy. They are the little peppers you see in bags in the store. My original source was Jung (https://www.jungseed.com/P/03247/Yum...+Hybrid+Pepper). The name says hybrid, but it says OP in the description. A few years back I contacted their customer service and they confirmed they are OP so instead of growing the mix I saved colors seperate so I can decide how much red and how much orange I want. I prefer the orange, they are a little thicker walled and juicier, as does our son, our 3 year old daughter prefers red because she likes red. Both are productive, sweet and juicy.

We had a couple firsts tonight! First Rons Carbon Copy, actually a big time fused blossom that weighed just over 6oz! It was as delicious as we remembered. And then the first ever tasting of Sunrise Bumblebee. If the first one was any indication we might very well have another added to our very hard to crack yearly grow list!

Default Onion harvest

Onion harvest today. These Copras were grown in 9 sq ft. I roughly sorted by size. We don't grow real big onions but go for max production per unit area. I actually like smaller onions for cooking because often a smaller onion is all I need.

Wow! What kind of fertilizer do you use on peppers and tomatoes?
