Wanted to share a picture of the moon I took Friday night while practicing for the eclipse, but it doesn't belong in the eclipse thread since it's just the plain old moon (not even full at that). I rented a big long lens for the weekend and played around with it Friday night to see what I could get. Here's what I got:

The workmanship kinda flies in the face of that thought though, as it is very well constructed and the consistency of the pattern shows planning. When I see the hours and days of time that's put into the making of one, I cannot see how someone can just throw them away either. |
