Are Goldman's Italian American the same as Coeur de Boeuf? They look identical to me?

As I am unfamiliar with Coeur de Boeuf, I can't answer the question. maybe Carolyn will be along soon and comment....

Amy Goldman's SSE YEarbook description says " dehybridized from a tomato found in Italy" so the assumption would be that it was originally an F1 hybrid, whatever it was, and Cuore di Bue ( in Italian) is not and shouldn't be a hybrid.

In the past few years there have been some wrong varieties of red versions of HEart of the Bull, regardless of the language used, and in one case when the error was traced back to Italy, it was found that some of the Italian seed suppliers are offering almost antthing that looks pear shaped or heart with pretty much any name they want to.

There's several threads about that here and the place where the tracking down was done was Baker Creek And I think the variety was German Red Strawberry if anyone wants to try and do a search.

Franchi is one of the better Italian Seed houses and their varieties are offered by Bill at Grow Italian.

So no way to know what Goldman's Italian American was or is as to specific origin.

Edited to add that I've grown many Heart of the Bulls or Heart of the Buffalo and I've never seen one with such ribbing and all have been heart shaped, not pear shaped, and several such pear shaped varieties were discussed in the Thread I referred to above.
