Default Barlow Jap, The hype is true!

After reading Camo's raves about this variety and how Cowlick's turned out I PM'd Camo and asked for seed. He was about out as word had spread but was able to send me a few.
After a late plantout due to weather, a hail storm and then temperatures in the mid 90's for the first 2 weeks of July my plants finally got down to business. Barlow Jap had OK fruit set during the heat wave and was able to get a few ripe fruit mid September. This last week with help from the sun god I got 6 more fruit. I would put the DTM at 85-90 days. Weight was in the 250-350 gram range.
Taste was excellent and I don't do the sea salt or spice thing, only natur. It's definitely a winner and will be grown again and again and again, you get my drift. Ami

Can't wait to grow this one next year - thank you again for the seeds!
Is it RL or PL? I think I remember Camo writing PL?

Ami, yes a fantastic tomato, I was lucky enough to get some seeds from Camo this past winter and grew it for the first time myself. And yes this one will be in the garden every year.

My plants were all PL

Hi There,
I am new to Tomatoville and Seed Saving.I just read your post and would like to ask you for a few seeds if possible. It sounds like an awesome tomato I would like to start.
I do not have any seeds to trade as I lost my garden this year due to being hospitalized and recovery time. I also lost my saved seeds due to an accidental mistake by my wife.I am going to try and start over, with Gods help and seedsavers willing to share.
I would appreciate any seeds you may be able to spare.

Thanking You in Advance

Ken

Ken, go to the Tomatoville Town Hall forum and introduce yourself and tell us about your tomato growing experiences. Maybe I can get you a few seeds after your introduction. Ami

Looks like a great tomato and PL I will have to post in the wanted seeds once I get an idea of all I want to grow next year but this one looks like a winner.

Ken, I'll be glad to send you a packet of seeds (since Ami is "across the
pond"). I have a very few Barlow Jap seeds (I lost my plant due to 2,4d
overspray from a neighbor) that my daughter saved for me from her BJ.
I asked her to save "lots" and was surprized to see only about 30 in the envelop-I guess everything is relative. You've got to try the Cowlick Brandywine-also have a lot of other popular varieties you might enjoy.
Got your address from above. Darlene

Craig, I meant to include in the above message, I have enough for you,
too, but interested in your "want list' in case I have others you might like to try. Also wanted to add that last year Maria of BlueRibbonTomatoes
offered Barlow Jap seeds for sale-not sure if she will this year or not.
She's a member of T'Ville I think so I'm hoping she'll see this thread and respond. Sorry I don't have enough seed of this variety for a general offering. Craig, you can pm me with your address.
