Default The EarthTainer "Farm" Fruitset - April 18 Update (pics)

In spite of the cooler and wetter than normal Spring, things are now progressing nicely. Goose Creek is flowering and adding about half an inch a day in growth:

Same thing with N.A.R.X. on the left, and Soren's Marianna's Peace X Neves Azorean Red on the right:

Black & Brown Boar is really green and thick stemmed:

And its "cousin" Pink Boar has begun to set fruit:

Last Season I planted 6 Pepper plants per 'Tainer which turned out to be too crowded. So this year, I am putting only 4 plants in each:

The Snow Peas have about peaked:

And I am getting a pretty good yield:

The carrots I threw in last November have survived the Winter, and are now perking up:

So hopefully, we will be spared the Psyllids, Tomato Russet Mites, and White Flies this Season. If not, I am well prepared with Take Down Garden Spray this time.

Looks Great Raybo! Is that calcium coming from your water out the over flow holes?

It is likely a "salts" buildup from fertilizer, etc. which happens in containers. That is accumulated from last Season - forgot to scrub the outsides of the EarthTainers when I used a 5% bleach solution to clean the insides!

Looks really good Ray. I'll be very interested to see how those carrots turn out.
Have you checked to see if any of the roots are mature yet?

Lee,

I had planted Tendersweet carrots on a lark, as I did not think they would survive over the Winter. I think they still have about a month to go to fatten up a bit:

Next Season, I will sow fewer seeds per 'Tainer to give them more room to develop. They seem to like the soft Potting Mix vs. in-ground hard-pack.

BTW, you would be proud of me! After trying to grow Cuostralee for 3 years to date with the seeds never germinating, this Season with a new seed source, SUCCESS!

I've got two growing in my Number 1 'Tainer spot for Sun and air movement.
