Tatiana's 2011 tomato harvest
Very few of my tomato plants survived the late blight, and I am still very surprised to see some plants producing ripe fruits, given the magnitude of the disaster in my garden... Some fruit ripened on bare stems, and still tasted quite good.
So here you go, ripe and sliced fruits that I managed to get this year. Some were surprisingly good! 1 & 2. Alice's Egypt 3. Alice 4. Banana Legs 5 & 6. Gildo Pietroboni 7. Hayslip 8. Hazel Mae 9 & 10. Legenda Tarasenko 11 &12. Maritime Pink 13. Pearly Pink Orange 14 & 15. Ross Red Salad 16. Summertime Green 17. Dwarf Wild Fred 18. Garvey's Beefsteak 19. Ingegnoli Gigante Liscio 20 & 21 & 22. Dwarf Mr. Snow 23. Sungold Select 24. Verna Orange All the pictures and my notes are uploaded to Tatiana's TOMATObase and my seed catalog was updated with the new varieties.

So in your opinion do you like sun gold select as well as sun gold?
Nice tomatoes. I'll stop by on my way to work. Worth |

SunGold Select is more acidic compared to Sungold F1. I like the sweetness of Sungold F1 or Sunsugar F1 better.

Glad you were able to get some harvest! Nice looking fruit. I like PPO, it produces well for me and tastes pretty good.

Also happy for you, Tania, that some of your tomato plants survived the late blight- that's amazing! Beautiful photos, too...just love looking at tomato pics!

Very nice harvest! I think I will be adding Gildo Pietroboni to my grow list for next year.

That's a beautiful display, Tania! Thanks for posting.
Did any of the plants exhibit blight resistance? (would they make good candidates for crosses?) |

A visual smorgasbord, I love it! The Legenda Tarasenko looks so cool sliced, how do they taste?

Tania-
Your Alice's Egypt and Gildo Pietroboni look like they would make excellent paste tomatoes. Heck, I didn't see a single seed in that Gildo pic. I couldn't find much information on the Alice. Where is it from, lineage? How would you describe the flavor of the two? If they're any good, I think I'll grow both next year to help fill my pantries with sauce. Thanks for sharing the harvest pics. -naysen |

Oh my goodness, they are making me hungry! I need to get the Ingegnoli Gigante Liscio, it looks absolutely delicious; how does it taste?
Are you offering these seeds for sale for 2012? I bought seeds from you for 2011 I did not plant, haha...but of course, I will need more. They look lovely, thank you so much for sharing those delightful photos! |
