A gallery of my tomatoes
Just thought Id share some photos of how my tomatoes are doing. It was raining when I took these. I take some pretty bad pictures so sorry for the out of focus ones. These are all 7 or 10 gallon smartpots. The stakes are 6 foot and are around a foot into the ground.

Btw these are a mix of Brandywine OTV (2), Cherokee Purple, Black Crimson, Aunt Gernies Gold, Black Cherry, Paul Roberson (2) and Taps (2). The one in the raised bed is a Amish Gold. There's a determinate called Cream sausage in a kitty litter bucket that's fairly small, forgot to get a closeup of that. The little black plastic pots are mostly marigolds that have been eaten to stubs by rabbits.

very nice! Have you grown cream sausage before? I have grown them in years past - I'm not growing them this year, but when I grew them I found they made a nice white pasta sauce. I did find them a bit dry for fresh eating, but that white pasta sauce was a hit. |

That is odd about the germination rates. I do have a friend near Montreal where I got my cream sausage tomato seeds. I had 95% germination rate from those seeds. I didn't pre treat the seeds, I just sowed them.
I am wondering if you had old seed? maybe save some seeds from this batch and then you will have fresh seed for next year. There is also a bleach/water pre-soak that TGRC recommends: http://tgrc.ucdavis.edu/seed_germ.aspx I had very good luck with that method this year. There is another method that uses potassium permanganate, but this bleach one is convenient and easy. I first read about it here and it really works well. |

Cream sausage is also the first determinate variety I've ever grown, so I'm interested to see how well it produces. |

More new pics
Hopefully I can keep the fungal plague at bay long enough for them to ripen. |

wow Vinnie, those plants are really producing! Great job with your little tomato "farm"!
Fungus, ugh! NJ is a very humid state, and I live on water, so even one town away from me the humidity is much less. This year, thanks to reading posts on TV, I am treating prophylaxis with fungicide early on and hoping to keep fungus at bay. Hoping! Good luck with the harvest and thanks for sharing pics!
