My tomato crop this year

I posted a follow up to the MP thread below, but here are my results so far for anyone interested:

Marianna Peace: My best tomato so far, no contest. It was my best last year too. Complex taste. not sweet, not too acidic. good balance. I know it has received mixed reviews on this forum. Lots of Hype and Ridicule. All I can say is that I guess I am lucky. I don't want to add to the hype, but it is everything that all the Hype people have said about it. Sturdy plant, but slightly low yeilds. Big tomatos. GREAT taste.

Momotaro: I grew this tomato upon several recommendations that it is a sweet tomato. I love sweetness in a tomato. The result: I am not impressed. Kind of bland. I would say that it is not sweet, but just lacks acidity. Good crop, poor shelf life. Kinda same taste as Sandul Moldavan that I grew last year. Some people call that tomator sweet too. All I can say is if you like low acid this is a good tomato. As far as sweetness goes, not really.

Azychoka: I don't know if I am spelling this correct. I got the seeds for free last year and I decided to give it a shot. Pleasant suprise. Yellow small tomato, Nice fruit good yield. Very faint Citrus taste. Nice balance of acidity and sweetness. I would grow again if I had room. Not a must have.

Sun Sugar and Sun Gold: Now these are sweet tomato's. I Think sungold is MUCH sweeter than sunsugar. I won't grow sun sugar again now that I have sun gold. Great cherry tomato. The trick is to pick them when they are deep orange-not yellowish. I will always grow these tomatos.

Still waiting for Stump of the World, Brandywine Sudath and Parsimmons. I have heard time and time again that Brandywine suddath is the best tasting. I guess I will have to compare to MP and see. Hopefully it Brandywine Suddath will ripen fast enough to do a head to head comparison.

If I could get the seeds commercially I would grow Earls Faux. I have heard good things about that on this ( and the other ) forum. Maybe next year

I thought the same thing. So I left two on the vine for a very long time. Almost to the point that it was starting to rot.
I tasted one last night.
Same taste.

Not sweet. Just not acidic. Bland even. Don't get me wrong its loads better than what you would buy in a store. Just not as tasty as MP. MP is not all that sweet either, but it is a great balance between sweet and acid.

One Caveat: I have not tried my stump of the world or Barndywine Sudduth yet. One of my stumps is just starting to blush. I hear so many good things about these two tomato's I can not wait to compare them to MP.
