Enjoyed your pics, Damon! I'm giving Orange Strawberry another try this year- last year I got pink hearts. It seems late compared to the others and isn't setting much fruit, so it'll have to be a knockout in the taste department!

Your not-hearts are really beautiful- have you had a taste yet? Are Sweet Treats (I'm assuming it's the F1) sweeter than SunSugar?

Kath- I have not had a fair taste yet on the non-heart (the first had BER but I did take a small bite at the top of the fruit). But it sure is big and I will be tasting it soon. Sweet Treats F1 are really sweet if left to ripen to their deep pink. Sweeter that SG? I would say yes. Orange Strawberry's production is averge for me here but well worth it. When OS is ripe its very sweet with a crazy complex flavor. I hope you enjoy it as well as I do!

Thanks for the feedback, Damon. I'm going to keep the OS in until I get a nice ripe fruit for sure. Do you have to leave the Sweet Treats on the vine until completely ripe or do they do ok finishing up the last day or two indoors? We've been able to keep the catbirds out of the blueberries this year but they're loving the cherry tomatoes on the trellises.

Kath-I like to leave em on the vine, I think they taste better but I think its ok to pick em early if needed. They seem to taste better and sweeter to me if left alone after reaching full color for a few more days. It also seems to me they keep pretty well. Are you growing ST this year?

No, but I can't seem to help doing a cherry tomato trial every year even though Sungold always wins and Sweet Treat sounds like a fun possibility for 2013.

Wow Damon, everything looks so wonderful, great gardens! I'd be curious as to the taste of Ukranian Heart , it's on my 2013 grow list (which is already about 30 varieties too many !).

I guess all that work on the watering system pays off, huh? I'm still dragging hoses everywhere !

Antoniette- Yes I'm so glad I put the watering system in, it was worth every penny. Actually all in all it cost me about 200 bucks and will last for years. It can be moved and adjusted as well. If your garden is of any size I would seriously consider it. JMO
