Default Falling over from the weight

Which tomatoes are you growing that are so heavy with tomatoes they are falling over? lol....of course, you can include what "would have fallen over if I did like Antoniette and didn't secure them well enough".

Yesterday my Mule Team fell over at 7' tall and I realized it was loaded with really nice big fruit up high which caused it to topple. What a great producer this plant is of pretty big round tomatoes.

My problem used to be smaller plants with not enough tomatoes on them. Now that I've learned from the best, my problem is that I have to figure out how to secure my plants better!

Almost all of them.
Ch Purple
Big beef
Russian big Roma
Sun gold
Black cherry
Sweet orange cherry
My F2 Italian golf ball size cherries
Mr Hawkins
Moskovich

Especially Pineapple which by chance I just had to retie again tonight. The lowest fruit were on the ground as the vine had managed to slide down its stakes. There are actually 3 stakes supporting it. My wife held up the plant while I retied all the branches to their stakes and added some stakes for good measure.

Malachite Box
It's cage broke early on, but I couldn't get the bottom off, so it's just got stakes in there and it's a mess! I finally had to start cutting it back. Oh well, next year (and there will definitely be a next year for this tomato, oh my!) I'll know what to do!

My Franchi cherry is sprawled all over the ground, as is Yukon Quest--it loaded up with fruit late and all of it was near the top. Both Russo Sicilian Togeta plants and the Ailsa Craig plant folded over when the weight of the fruit on the branches above the stakes got to be too much.

On Saturday I went through and lopped off any top branches that did not have fruit set on them. I figure anything that sets from this point on probably won't mature before the cooler weather arrives.

Mortgage lifter and Big Zac. HUGE! 6 weeks in the ground and they are both 6" plus with huge green fruit. I planted really late since I just moved in mid June and planted around June 22nd. My Opalka are about 4 feet but so much growth and fruit. I think they might take down my concrete mesh cages in a week or two. What a productive plant! Mr Stripey was my worst plant followed by Arkansas traveler.

i added extra stakes to my cher purple in a SWC. i have a step ladder i will be using to pick fruit that would no doubt have pulled the plant over tops of the cages had i not added more support.

Orange Strawberry grew tallest the fastest and set its first fruits quite high on the plant. It produced later than almost everything else and the first few fruits all weighed more than a pound. Its 7' wooden stake was leaning way over from the increasing weight of the abundant fruit set so we added a 7' U-post a couple feet away and used twine to loop the two posts together.

I came home after a couple days away and both of my black cherries had fallen over; they are the biggest plants in my garden. I pulled them back up and stuck the supports back in the ground and they seem to be managing.
