Correction/Prof. Klapprott ( Germany)
Several days ago I received an e-mail from Reinhard Kraft in Germany saying that he'd seen me post ( I don't know where or when, didn't ask), that Prof Klapprott was associated with the German Seed Bank at Gatersleben. He also sent me some links verifying what he told me.
Yes, I had done that as have a few others I know, so I sent him some links and private chat as well as info from phone chats I'd had with others in the past and he then understood where this misunderstanding came from. I told him I wanted to post a correction here and asked if he wanted me to run it by him first and he said I could but he trusted what I might write. The correct information is that Prof Klapprott is a retired Prof. of Psychology and has been a collector of older varieties of beans and tomatoes and is not associated with Gatersleben. Since I've known Reinhard for many years when he said he trusted what I would write I know that he meant no naming names and no linking to what I sent him about a misunderstanding that happened many years ago. What's important is to get the correct information out to others. This General Discussion Forum draws the most Tville folks either for reading and/or for posting, so I posted here for that reason, and also b'c I know there are many folks here who post at several other message sites as well, so they can also pass on the correct information if needed. I also encourage any owners of seed sites to make any corrections they might need to make. Thanks.
