Default extracting seeds.

You can get all the seeds out from tomatoes relatively quickly by using a dental waterjet.

First cut the tomato into thick slices to expose the seed cavities, then just wash the seeds out with the waterjet and catch the seeds with a strainer.

I just cut them in half and squeeze out the seeds.

Earl,

Actually, originally I use the waterjet to get all the seeds and jelly out without messing up the tomato for stuffing the tomato. Then I realized that it's also a good way if you want to get the seeds out for saving seeds.

You can have your seeds and eat the tomato too.

If you don't have a dental waterjet handy, the sprayer at the kitchen sink works pretty good. If I'm not planning to eat the tomato, I cut it in half, squish out the seeds, then turn the half inside out and whomp the bejeebers out of it in a bucket of water. The seeds settle to the bottom and most of the other bits that get whacked off will float. When I strain out the seeds, I rinse the bucket one extra time to make sure no seeds are stuck to it before I switch varieties. Wet tomato seeds seem to want to stick to everything.

I usually use Earls approach but if I want all the seeds like Keith I use a small teaspoon to scoop out all the seeds and gel.

Sometimes when I do a taste test, I would taste the seeds and meat separately because they taste different.

Waterjet makes it convenient to get every bit of seed and gel out without messing up the meat.
