Default Fish Fertilizer and Cats

Anyone have any trouble with neighborhood cats visiting your plants after you apply fish fertilizer?

Cats don't have leash laws and I have many of them in my area who like to poop in my yard. GRRRRR. I'd love to apply the fish fert I just bought but wonder if my container grown tomatoes will be torn up.

I can only use fish fertilizer on my seedlings in the greenhouse or my dogs like to dig up where it is used and if a tomato or other plant happens to be there, oh well. I have a strong electric fence to keep them out of the garden but sometimes turn it off and forget to turn it back on and they seem to be able to tell when it is off. The dogs make sure no cats dig in my garden which is a plus. There is nothing quite like discovering with your bare hands what the cat left behind in the soil.

That's way I use 'industrial strength' vinyl gloves!

Well, shoot, my dog would most likely love the fish fert. too. Maybe I'll sprinkle just a tad in a spot I want dug up to see what happens overnight.
