What is the best red tomato
Oka what is the best red tomato By best I mean reliable, good tasting, non salad/ non cherry which puts out enough tomatoes to feed a small horde of people.

I am very new at this but I got about 22 lbs/plant from Big Beef and Rutgers (ind). Big Beef was firmer and more tart. Rutgers was my favorite for slicing and eating. Both were good on sandwiches, etc.

Big Beef is good.
But my favorite is Cuostralee. Hands down best red for all the criteria you state. Plus best tasting of all the tomatoes I've grown. Lee

But as stated above Neves Azorean Red worked wonders in my garden this year ~ For SUPER HEAVY CRAZY TAKE THEM TO WORK production and a good taste : Thessaloniki was a winner ~ Tom
