Indigo Tomatos
Can anyone trll what the indigo tomatoes are all about? I see there a number of varieties.

indigo looks like a marketing name that Territorial and maybe a few other retailers are using to describe high anthocyanin tomatoes of all kids - a reference to the first *commercially-available high anthocyanin variety - indigo rose.
they're really nothing new however and lots of people have been playing around with the blue gene for a while and, in my opinion, there are far better tasting blue tomatoes out there than the ones you're probably seeing seed for in retail catalogs. either way, lots of info about them here, particularly Tom Wagner's posts as he's been developing many blue tomato varieties for quite a long time, many of which you can get seed for from his website. |
